As is evident, the before-strong Ruffian engine did not have one chance, even thou Ruffian 2.1 would be the newer version. Strelka 5.5 was clear winner and now one of the favorites in the Final8-tournament, and it will be also interesting how other qualifiers Tactico Pro, IvanHoe and Komodo 3 will do, since they play strong and interesting chess. Naum was at times even closer getting through but competition was tough.

Houdini changed to earlier version after technical performance problems. I expect the top-5 ranked engines to be the big favorites, while other 3 are the challengers for top places. Will be interesting. However...

There is already another event happening, which was started yesterday, after some heavy searching and installing process. Namely, great KO-tournament with all the best engines I managed to gather! There are now quite a few and many of the strongest ones... This tournament already started, and goes as follows:

As can be seen, some (quite a few) unfortunate disqualifications needed to take place, since I did not manage to get those engines to work in Arena, many of which are very strong ones. But since I have no replacing engines, or to be precise those were already included replacing some other non-working ones, the tournament just goes on to the 2nd round as planned. Also some of the engines do not have their strongest versions because of another technical issues. However, plenty of interesting participants and games ahead...
